Beta Competition - Theme Tutorial

.Net Portal Beta - Theme Tutorials - Cash Prizes

The first of our Beta Competitions is now underway. The competition is for the best Tutorial that details "How to create a theme" for the .Net portal, the competition runs untill May 18th and is open to any and all Beta Testers.

If you would like to participate in the beta (and therefore in the competitions) then you can apply via the "Beta Applications" forum (read the news post below this one!).

A new Beta test is beginning - if you'd like to participate please read the thread posted Here

The new Beta will be focusing on exploring in depth the functionality of the new version of the Portal and Ezboxx Ltd will be offering prize money to the participants of the Beta that contribute Tutorials, Articles, videos and other media that detail the functionality and provides (How To) information about using it. These will then be released to the public along with the first public beta version in the coming weeks.

New Server Infrastructure - Now Online

New Server Infrastructure

3 months ago Ezboxx Ltd started building up a new Hardware and Software infrastructure that would form the basis of our new and improved hosting Services.

We have had sites on this platform for the past 2 months testing and verifying the functionality and at the start of the new year we started to increase the number of migrations from the old hardware to the new infrastructure.

Since the server issues we experienced with the old hardware earlier this week we have massively increased the rate in which we are migrating clients to the new hardware and we expect to have everyone moved over within the next fortnight. currently more than half of all our clients are already on the new platform.

Server Issues

Server Issues

We have a situation currently that we are working through with the datacenter technicians. Some of you will be experiencing downtime on your websites. this is due to hard drive failures. we have been up most of the night working with the datacenter engineers to get the disks in the raid array replaced and rebuilt. but the raid rebuild is not playing nicely.

so we have had to take the server offline (raid rebuild was done via hot swap keeping the servers online) as we need to actually replace the raid manager and all the disks do an OS rebuild and then restore from backups.

this process will mean the servers will be offline for the next 5-6 hours (right in the middle of the european working day which is a worst case scenario for the impact this will have) but just to iterate...
